American Acacia is a family-owned apiary located on the glacial soils of Fly Creek, among the rolling hills surrounding Cooperstown, New York. Since 2021, our vision has been to build a sustainable beekeeping operation that brings together healthy honeybees, responsible land stewardship, and the pursuit of one of nature’s rare treasures—American acacia honey.

At our Central New York apiary, we raise, manage, and develop honeybee colonies with an emphasis on observable qualities such as health, productivity, gentle temperament, and winter resilience. Working with Buckfast, Carniolan, and Russian-influenced bees, we provide locally managed five-frame nucs and queens to beekeepers seeking strong, dependable colonies suited to the demands of our region.

We are also cultivating a stand of black locust trees—often known as American acacia—whose blossoms will, with nature’s blessing, provide our honeybees with their uniquely delicate nectar. Our first acacia honey harvest is anticipated in 2029.

From developing healthy colonies and providing quality nucs and queens to nurturing the trees that will support future generations of honeybees, our work is guided by patience, thoughtful management, and respect for the natural rhythms of the land.
